EDF, an important partner for China’s Green and low-carbon development

Since the mid-80s, EDF participated in the first large-scale nuclear power project in China as technical head. EDF made an active contribution to the Chinese nuclear industry by participating in the construction of Daya Bay nuclear power station. 
 

In 2009, EDF became the first foreign investor in the Chinese nuclear power projects through its participation in the Taishan EPR project. 
 
In 2019, EDF became the first foreign investor in the Chinese offshore wind market through Dongtai offshore wind project.
 
With innovation as the core of all business, EDF has diversified its business in China into low-carbon energy services (including district heating and cooling, and public lighting), renewable energy, research & development, and engineering consultant services.

EDF Pulse China Awards

2023 EDF China Pulse Awards winners revealed. Three winning Chinese startups join the EDF open innovation network.

In 2021, for the first time, the EDF Pulse innovation competition was held in China. In 2023, the EDF Pulse comes back to China with an upgraded co-creation program, looking for Chinese science and technology companies with innovative solutions in the three fields of “virtual power plant”, “green hydrogen” and “internet of carbon”. With China's vision of becoming carbon neutral by 2060, EDF looks forward to working closely with China's innovative community to promote collaborative innovation and contribute to China's low-carbon transition and global sustainable development.
