EDF plays a key role in the development of nuclear power in China and beyond.
A LONG-STANDING PRESENCE IN CHINA’S NUCLEAR SECTOR
EDF Group is the largest nuclear operator in the world. In 1980s, EDF made active contribution to the Chinese nuclear industry by participating as technical lead in the construction of Daya Bay project, the first large-scale nuclear project in China.
In 2008, as the first foreign investor in the nuclear sector in China, in cooperation with its partner CGN group, EDF participated in the development of the Taishan EPR project. Those two reactors were the first to be commissioned in the world in 2018 and 2019.
A LONG-TERM PARTNER OF THE CHINESE NUCLEAR INDUSTRY
In the past 40 years, the cooperation between EDF and its Chinese partners has been extended to different fields such as nuclear engineering, construction and operation.
EDF is committed to further enhancing its cooperation with Chinese partners so as to satisfy the latest nuclear safety requirements, and thus ensure the competitiveness and sustainability of nuclear power.
