EDF Wuhan is the partner of the Sino-French Wuhan Eco-city for urban energy development.

Wuhan city (6th largest city in China with more than 11 million inhabitants) is the capital city of Hubei, a hub for communication and cooperation between China and France.

In the city of Wuhan, EDF was contracted to achieve energy efficiency at Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile facility by upgrading over 70,000 lighting points with smart LED lighting back in 2014.

EDF Wuhan is also the partner of the Sino-French Wuhan Eco-city for urban energy development.

Sino-French Wuhan Eco-city

Sino-French Wuhan Eco-city was established in 2014 with the witness of the heads of state of China and France. It’s a pilot project between the two countries on urban sustainability cooperation.

EDF Wuhan participated in the planning of the Eco-city and the designing of the first distributed energy station and has been collaborating with local government in the field of energy service since 2016.  The energy station is capable of providing heating and cooling service to 103,260,000 m2 of buildings upon construction.
