EDF’s commitment to electricity generation in China includes a significant fossil-fired power plant portfolio in Shandong province.

EDF holds 19.6% of Shandong Zhonghua Power Company (SZPC), a joint venture set up in 1997 that owns three coal-fired power plants in Shandong.

The SZPC power plant project is run in partnership with Guodian Power Company (51%) and China Light & Power of Hong Kong (CLP), which has a 29.4% share.
Construction of the power plants was undertaken by a consortium that included EDF.

On January 1st, 2022, Shiheng I & II (1,260 MW) has been transferred to CEIC in accordance with the joint-venture contract.
